The USC School of Medicine Student Opportunities for Academic Achievement through Research is an 8-week summer research opportunity for students who just completed their MS1 academic year.  Students earn a $2,500 stipend and spend time working alongside faculty mentors either in basic science or a clinical setting.

Getting involved in research as early as possible, with hands-on experience, enhances what students are learning in the classroom and makes them more appealing for residency. Research is a valuable part of medical education, and the RPMS summer program enrolls between 15 and 25 students each year. Applications are due at the end of Fall Semester and acceptance decisions are sent out in early Spring.
